Happy New Year everyone!

I hope the start of a new year is as refreshing and energizing to everyone else as it is for me.

I love taking time to flip through the pages of the 2017 chapter that has come to a close. By looking at the bucket list I made for the year and seeing what goals I met, and which ones I managed to forget about, I realize the most interesting accomplishments I made were the ones that weren’t established goals. Those accomplishments are special to me because it reminds me that no matter how hard I try, you can’t plan everything in life. SpontaneityΒ  and the ability to take things as they come are important parts of a meaningful life.

Although January 1st is just another day on our journey round and round the sun, it always feels like a fresh start. It is a reminder that if the past year didn’t work out the way you wanted it to, there is always new hope. To summarize all of my feels, here is a quote from the critically acclaimed movie (lol) New Years Eve:

“Before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Because that’s what new year is all about β€” getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what would be. So at midnight, let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long.”

So here’s to more adventure (big and small) in 2018, more dedication to health, and spending just as many hours being cozy as I do out in the world living life the way it was meant to be lived: wildly, fully, and as happy as a girl on a mini pony farm.

Professional lover of stories, the harmonica, goats and burritos. Constantly daydreaming about living in the country, ice cream and decorating. Inspired by beautiful writing, the PNW, Beyonce and kindness. I'm guaranteed to have hearts in my eyes when the lighting is just right and am totally in love with my beau named Beau, who I found in the middle of fall, my favorite season. I sleep in my makeup, grew up on grunge music, embrace imperfection and am pretty excited about the gift of waking up every morning with choice to kick butt and love every minute of this wild ride.
