Happy Monday everybody! Nothing like a solar eclipse and yearly physical to start a week off. It is going to be a good one!
This weekend Beau and I went on an awesome weekend trip to the Olympic Peninsula with his parents. We stayed at Whiskey Creek Beach which is a cute little family owned vacation spot where you can camp, bring your RV or rent one of their little cabins. We stayed in an adorable cabin with no TV and no WiFi – so good for the mind to truly unplug for a weekend.
CAPE FLATTERY . We had no real plan for Saturday but the first idea that was mentioned was driving to Cape Flattery which was very exciting to me since it was very coincidentally on my 2017 adventure bucket list. It was a bit of a drive but the walk out to the point was awesome and Beau and I’s ideal level of hiking (AKA a short nature walk). It was fairly crowded but nothing too crazy.
Behold! Beautiful Cape Flattery.
LAKE CRESCENT LODGE . I have driven around Lake Crescent a couple of times on my way to Forks to check out what all of the vampire rage was about. The lake is beautiful and so clear but I have never stopped and spent time on it. For dinner we went to the Lake Crescent Lodge and I already want to go back. There were the most adorable little cabins for rent and it kind of reminded me of a fancy summer camp for families. There were tons of kids running around, the lake was glistening and the essence of summer was so thick you could almost taste it. The beautiful lodge had a restaurant and gift shop in it and we got to eat in the dreamiest enclosed porch I have ever seen.
WHISKEY CREEK BEACH . We got back to the cabin just in time to walk down to the beach to catch the sunset which couldn’t have been any more perfect. The day ended with hours of chatting around an awesome camp fire. A perfect day!
What a perfect weekend escape. Good food, a beautiful day, an adventure and great company. Can’t wait to go back!
