Beau’s roommate Joe had his 30th birthday recently and in the spirit of never growing up, we threw him a hot dog themed birthday BBQ party. Turns out there are a lot of hot dog decorations out there. I got an awesome hot dog Mylar balloon from Etsy that ended up floating into outer space when I was moving it from my car to the house. I almost cried like a little girl but managed to keep my cool. My favorite part of the party was the hot dog bar we set up with all of the toppings and the hot dog shaped Rice Krispies treats that I made the night before. First of all – Rice Krispies treats are not given enough credit, they are a really delicious treat. Second of all – this was my face when I realized adding red food coloring to Rice Krispies Treats makes it look like raw ground meat.

Many hot dogs were consumed, lots of fun was had, and it felt really good to have a nice summer BBQ with friends to make use of all of this sunshine. I wish summer could last forever.

Professional lover of stories, the harmonica, goats and burritos. Constantly daydreaming about living in the country, ice cream and decorating. Inspired by beautiful writing, the PNW, Beyonce and kindness. I'm guaranteed to have hearts in my eyes when the lighting is just right and am totally in love with my beau named Beau, who I found in the middle of fall, my favorite season. I sleep in my makeup, grew up on grunge music, embrace imperfection and am pretty excited about the gift of waking up every morning with choice to kick butt and love every minute of this wild ride.
