2016 came and went as fast as a pint of Halo Top ice cream in my freezer. I adventured, achieved work goals, didn’t give up on a major fitness goal with my sister, and grew my first vegetable garden. The cherry on top was seeing Beyoncé and going to my fourth Bridge School Benefit concert in California.

What did I learn in 2016? I learned that I care a lot about finding a way to celebrate people’s differences, rather than letting them divide us. I came to a sad realization that my oldest relationship, the one with music, went on a break this year, and I would like to rekindle the passion in the next year. I was reminded of the value and beauty of friendships and the power of laughter. I worked on myself a lot. I had the opportunity to remember how awful studying for exams are – and how exciting it is to pass them (Stephanie Rasmusson, LEED Green Associate). Visiting Tennessee and Kentucky reminded me how much of my own country I have left to see, and that the diversity and beauty in this country are endless.

Watch out 2017, I’m comin’ in hot.

Professional lover of stories, the harmonica, goats and burritos. Constantly daydreaming about living in the country, ice cream and decorating. Inspired by beautiful writing, the PNW, Beyonce and kindness. I'm guaranteed to have hearts in my eyes when the lighting is just right and am totally in love with my beau named Beau, who I found in the middle of fall, my favorite season. I sleep in my makeup, grew up on grunge music, embrace imperfection and am pretty excited about the gift of waking up every morning with choice to kick butt and love every minute of this wild ride.
