NASHVILLE, LOVE YA
Nashville has always been high up on my list of places I want to visit. Once I discovered you can fly direct from Seattle to Nashville, and that it is within driving distance to Sadieville, Kentucky (where I would be spending my Thanskgiving), I knew my chance had finally arrived. One day of exploring was all that it took to want to come back for more – Nashville is so cool.
We booked our hotel on Hotwire and ended up staying at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel. Hotwire really hooked us up, the hotel was perfect for one night in Nashville. We did, however, get an unexpected wake up call at 5am thanks to the fire alarm. That was a lot of stairs to walk down in my pajamas. PLUS the hotel had to turn off the water after the fire alarm (which meant we didn’t get to shower before seeing his grandparents) so we got our room refunded by Hotwire! Score!
For our one and only big night out in Nashville we explored “Nashvegas” and hopped around to different bars, music and boot stores, and watched lots of live music. It was a lot of fun.
In the morning I knew just where I wanted to explore before we headed to Kentucky: Nashville’s 12 South neighborhood. The 12 South neighborhood is home to the Instagram famous “I Believe in Nashville” wall art and Reese Witherspoon’s store Draper James. It was such a cute area and had lots of shops and random pretty things. Check out this shop, I was drooling big time:
After our time in Kentucky we had a few hours to spend in Nashville before dropping off the rental car that were spent very carefully. Our first mission was eating some good barbecue which was accomplished at Peg Leg Porker. We also had time to swing by this mystical land called Pinewood Social which has food, fancy drinks, bowling, and I think more? We didn’t have a ton of time there but it was beautiful and very intriguing!
Nashville, I love ya. I can’t wait to come back!
