Another weekend in Portland with my Beau!

Funny story about the first time we went to Portland: We had just started dating and wanted to go on a weekend trip and picked Portland and got tickets to see Florence + the Machine. The concert was awesome and in total Florence fashion she was full of spreading the love. At one point she said “Now turn to the person next to you and tell them you love them!” Beau and I turned and looked at each other and just started laughing. #toosoon

This trip to Portland was to celebrate my closest work friend’s birthday. We got a hotel on Hotwire and ended up staying at the Heathman in downtown Portland which was an awesome surprise. We even got randomly updated and got to stay in this weird symphony themed room with a conference table and everything.

We started the weekend off with a little party barge action. Here is the beautiful birthday girl herself!

This cute restaurant was right across from the hotel and it wasn’t open when we tried to pop in for a snack but we did stop by after the birthday festivities for a drink. So pretty.

On Sunday we were excited to explore NW 23rd Street because last time we were there we knew we wanted to come back at some point and explore more of the restaurants and shops. We had breakfast at Hoyt which was crazy busy but so delicious. Check out that breakfast skillet!

Among the many shops that we popped into was Will Leather Goods, an awesome leather shop that Beau and I both fell in love with. Not only did it have endless handmade leather items, it also had a little area in the back with all sorts of flowers and plants.

After brunch and some shopping, back home we went! Portland never disappoints for a solid weekend adventure. We’ll be back.

Professional lover of stories, the harmonica, goats and burritos. Constantly daydreaming about living in the country, ice cream and decorating. Inspired by beautiful writing, the PNW, Beyonce and kindness. I'm guaranteed to have hearts in my eyes when the lighting is just right and am totally in love with my beau named Beau, who I found in the middle of fall, my favorite season. I sleep in my makeup, grew up on grunge music, embrace imperfection and am pretty excited about the gift of waking up every morning with choice to kick butt and love every minute of this wild ride.
